Oak Ridge SSAB to meet November 12
Oak Ridge, Tenn. - November 7, 2003 - The Oak Ridge Site Specific Advisory Board (SSAB) will meet at 6 p.m., Wednesday, November 12, at the DOE Information Center, 475 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
The SSAB is a federally chartered, independent, volunteer advisory board to the U.S. Department of Energys cleanup program.
The meeting presentation will feature an overview of the Risk-Based End State for the Oak Ridge Reservation. Risk-based end states are representations of site conditions and associated information that reflect the planned future use of the property that are protective of human health and the environment. A risk-based end state approach will allow the Department of Energy to complete cleanup work faster, more safely, and more efficiently because the end state vision will serve as the focus of site assessments, remedy selections and actions to assure long-term protectiveness.
For more information about the meeting, call the SSAB office at (865) 576-1590, or visit the Boards web site at www.oakridge.doe.gov/em/ssab. Information is also available on the Boards 24-hour information line at (865) 576-4750.
