DOE Information Center
475 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge The meeting
presentation will focus on the Integrated Facility Disposition Project,
which was established to define the scope of work necessary to finish
cleanup of the Oak Ridge Reservation.
The project includes approximately 207 facilities at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory and the Y-12 National Security Complex that will be
government surplus but have not yet been incorporated into DOE’s
Environmental Management Program. By eliminating these facilities, the
project will enable the laboratory to have an interconnected campus that
facilitates the safe performance of multidisciplinary science. At Y-12,
the project will enable DOE to create a more secure, functional, and
cost-effective site.
A preliminary proposal for the project (CD-0) was submitted to
DOE-Headquarters in Fall 2007. A CD-1 document is currently being
prepared for submittal in May.
