Jimmy Bell Jimmy Bell
Jimmy currently provides consulting services to Egan, Fitzpatrick, Malsch & Lawrence, PLLC, a legal firm involved in environmental issues. Previously, he worked as a chemist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) from 1963 to 1995. Bell received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in chemistry from Berry College and his doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of Mississippi. Jimmy lives in Kingston.

Alfreda Cook Alfreda Cook
Alfreda Cook is retired from URS/CH2M Oak Ridge (UCOR) after serving as the Waste Performance Integration Manager until January 2012. Over the past 20 years working as a data and systems analyst, she has been instrumental in compiling and reporting corporate waste disposition data for several DOE Oak Ridge environmental management contractors. She received her B.S. in Organizational Management from Tusculum College. She is a member of CASA of the Tennessee Heartland, an advocacy group for abused and neglected children. Alfreda resides in Oak Ridge.

Jacqueline Hagy Lisa Hagy
Lisa is a financial services representative with First Tennessee Bank, and she participates in a variety of United Way activities. She has also served as a member of a professional women's organization, a domestic abuse shelter board, and the Chamber of Commerce. She attended the University of South Carolina. Lisa lives in Alcoa.

Gracie Hall Gracie Hall
Gracie is a student representative to the board for FY 2013-14. She is a senior at Oak Ridge High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, the Oak Ridge High School marching and concert band, and the International Relations Club. She also sings in Sound Company Children’s Choir and practices various forms of martial arts. After high school, Gracie hopes to obtain a degree in Spanish, perform service work in other countries, and pursue a career that allows her to work with animals.
Janet hart Janet Hart
Janet is an environmental engineer with the Knox County Department of Air Quality Management, where she has worked since 2004. She received Bachelor of Science degrees in civil engineering and education and a Master of Science (M.S.) in environmental engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and an Engineer-in-Training for the State of Tennessee. Janet resides in Andersonville.

Bob Hatcher Bob Hatcher
Bob is primarily a research scientist in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and holds the position of Distinguished Scientist and Professor. He worked 14 years under a joint appointment between UT and Oak Ridge National Laboratory as part of the UT/ORNL Distinguished Scientist Program. He received his BS in geology and chemistry and his MS is geology at Vanderbilt University. He earned his doctorate in structural geology from UT-Knoxville. He was the senior author of the early 1990s ORNL effort to produce a new geologic map and report on the geology of the Oak Ridge Reservation. He has also conducted geologic research in the Appalachians and other mountain chains for 45 years, resulting in more than 200 publications, including nine books. He received the highest honors in his profession when he was awarded the Geological Society of America Penrose Medal and the American Geological Institute Ian Campbell Medal, both in 2006. Bob and his family live in Oak Ridge.

Dave Hemelright David Hemelright
David  is the marketing director for Alliance Corporation, which provides construction services, primarily to school systems. David has 20 years of construction management experience in commercial, retail, and food service construction, and 10 years in maintenance management for retail and K–12 public schools.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in American history from Hobart College. He has attended numerous conferences and seminars in Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety certification and in general construction. In addition, he served on the board of directors for the National School Plant Management Association and was the president of the board of directors for the Tennessee School Plant Management Association. He currently serves on the board of the TSPMA. He is a member of the Council of Educational Facilities Planners–International and the Energy Services Coalition; vice president of the board of directors for the American Truck Historical Society; and has served on the Loudon County Planning Commission. David lives in Lenoir City.

Bruce Hicks Bruce Hicks
Bruce is the sole proprietor of MetCorps, which provides consulting services to several agencies on issues related to the ways in which components of the environment interact. He retired in 2006 from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, where he served as director of the Air Resources Laboratory. He also worked for Argonne National Laboratory and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization in Melbourne, Australia. Hicks received his B.S. in physics and mathematics from the University of Tasmania and his M.S. in Meteorology from the University of Melbourne. He is president of the Norris, Tennessee, Lions Club and a member of the American Meteorological Society, the American Geophysical Union, and the Norris Conservation/Recycle Commission. Bruce resides in Norris.

Howard Holmes Howard Holmes
Howard is a physician with Tennova and was the owner/operator of Physician’s Clinic P.C. in Lenoir City from 1993 to 2010.  He has worked in the medical field since completing his internship/residency in 1986. Howard received his B.S. in microbiology and his M.S. in natural sciences from the University of Arkansas. He received medical training in general medicine from St. George’s University and internal medicine from East Tennessee State University. Howard is a founding member and current board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Lenoir City, and a member of the Heritage Foundation, the U.S. Naval Institute, and Mercy West Hospital.  He resides in Lenoir City.

Chuck Jensen Charles Jensen
Charles is the owner and manager of Diversified Technologies in Knoxville, which manufactures, designs, and services wastewater treatment systems for nuclear power plants. He has founded three technology companies, one of which is listed on the NASDAQ, and is currently operating the third. He has developed two patents and has two more pending, and he has authored and presented several technical papers regarding waste processing in the commercial nuclear industry. Charles lives in Knoxville.

Jennifer Kasten Jennifer Kasten
Jennifer Kasten is a retired nuclear/environmental engineer, most recently employed from 2000 to 2005 at the Tennessee Valley Authority Watts Bar Nuclear Power Plant. Previously, she worked in the Nuclear Engineering Department at the University of Tennessee (UT) from 1997 to 2000. She also worked for 12 years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory on gaseous diffusion plant safety issues and radioactive waste research. Jennifer received a BS in biology from Valparaiso University in Indiana, a BS in civil/environmental engineering from UT, and an MS in nuclear/radiological engineering from UT. She is a member of the American Nuclear Society, is involved in various fundraising activities, and supports Random Acts of Flowers, which distributes floral arrangements to nursing homes, hospices, assisted living homes, and shelters. Jennifer lives in Knoxville.

Jan Lyons Jan Lyons
Jan Lyons is a former adjunct professor of risk management at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where she worked in the Engineering Management, Information, and Systems Department. Previously, she was employed by Lockheed Martin Corporation as a staff systems engineer, cost research manager, risk oversight manager, and information technology manager. Jan received her B.A. in economics from the College of William and Mary, her M.S. in systems engineering from Clemson University, and her doctorate in industrial and systems engineering and engineering management from the University of Alabama. Jan is active in a number of organizations, including Community Shares, where she serves on the Board of Directors, in programming and outreach for Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning, and as a training facilitator for the Girl Scouts. She lives in Oak Ridge.

David Martin David Martin
David is a self-employed electrical engineer who has worked on a wide range of power engineering assignments worldwide. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Tennessee Cattlemen's Association (Roane County chapter). David lives in Harriman where he operates his family’s farm.

Fay Martin Fay Martin
Fay retired in 1996 from ORNL, where she worked as an environmental toxicologist. She received her B.S. in chemistry/botany/zoology from the University College of the West Indies, an M.S. in biology from McMaster University, and her doctorate in environmental toxicology from the University of Tennessee. Fay serves as the co-president of Churchwomen United, vice chair of the Health and Education Facilities Board of Oak Ridge, and is a member of the American Association of University Women’s Planning Committee, and the League of Women Voters. Fay resides in Oak Ridge.

Donald Mei Donald Mei
Donald Mei is a retired engineer who was employed from 1986 to 2007 by Duke Energy in Charlotte, N.C. During that time, he was the supervising engineer and technical manager in the Radiation Dosimetry and Records Department and the senior engineer/nuclear production engineer in the Radiation Protection Section. Before working at Duke, he worked in the Health Physics Division of the Institute of Nuclear Energy Research in Taiwan. Donald received his BS in physics from Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan, his MS in health physics from UT, and his doctorate in nuclear engineering from Kansas State University. His professional affiliations and activities include: diplomate of the American Board of Health Physics (1991-present), Health Physics Society plenary member (1975-2008), Nuclear Energy Institute Task Force on Radiation Protection Recordkeeping and Dosimetry (1994-2007), Taiwan Radiation Protection Association Advisory Committee (1992-present), and American Board of Health Physics (1995-1999). Donald lives in Oak Ridge.

Scott McKinney Scott McKinney
Scott is a senior vice president of Oil and Gas with Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc., which provides environmental assessment and remediation services. He has 25 years of experience performing all phases of project management, from site characterization through remediation and closure. Scott received his Associate of Engineering Technology degree from the State Technical Institute in Knoxville and his B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee. He is a member of the Knoxville Business Association, the Bentley Park Homeowners Association, and the Gettysvue Country Club Advisory Board. Scott lives in Knoxville.

Greg Paulus Greg Paulus
Greg retired as the president/owner of Metalite Industries, Inc., which produces and modifies products for persons with mobility disabilities. He is retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he was a lieutenant colonel. He received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Marquette University and his Master of Business Administration from the Central Michigan University.  Greg is a resident of Rockwood.

Belinda Price Belinda Price
Belinda is a senior hydrogeologist with Alliant Corporation, where she has been employed since October 2011. She has more than 25 years experience in environmental investigation and environmental remediation as a geologist, hydrogeologist, and task/project manager. Belinda received her B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Bristol, U.K., and her M.Sc. in Hydrogeology from University College London, the University of London, U.K.  She is a Certified Professional Geologist in the states of Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee, and she is a member of the Geological Society of America and the East Tennessee Geological Society. Belinda lives in Knoxville.

Julia Riley Julia Riley
Julia is a student representative to the board for FY 2013-14. She is a senior at Hardin Valley Academy, where she participates in the National Honor Society, Leo Club, a Lions Club organization, and Venture Crew, a co-ed branch of the Boy Scouts. Julia spends her free time hiking and backpacking and plans to pursue a wildlife and fisheries biology degree at Clemson University.
Corkie Staley Coralie (Corkie) Staley
Corkie is a retired teacher from the Oak Ridge City Schools, beginning in 1987. She is a current member and past president of the Oak Ridge Education Association, a member of the National Education Association, and a member of the board of directors of the Tennessee Education Association. She received her B.A. in education from West Virginia State College and her M.S. degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Tennessee. Corkie served on the board for one term from 2000 to 2002. She lives in Oak Ridge.

Scott Stout Scott Stout
Scott Stout is the assistant director of the Office of Emergency Services for Roane County, Tennessee. He received his BA in liberal arts from Tennessee Wesleyan College and his Hazmat Specialist Certification from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency. Scott lives in Rockwood.

Tom Valunas Tom Valunas
Tom retired in 2009 from Mid-America Renewable Fuels, Inc., where he served as chief financial officer. He previously served in a similar capacity for several companies.  He received his B.S. in economics and his M.B.A. from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Tom serves as a volunteer on the Supervisory Committee and as treasurer on the Y-12 Federal Credit Union board of directors since 1995. He lives in Oak Ridge.
