IF EVACUATION ORDERED

  1. Make sure the evacuation order applies to the Lettered Zone you are in.

  2. If you need a ride to a shelter, ask a neighbor.  If you can't arrange a ride, call the City of Oak Ridge Public Safety Dispatcher at 425-4399, or Roane County Central Dispatch at 354-8045, for pick up by designated emergency vehicles.  You will be taken to a shelter.

  3. Evacuate according to official instructions broadcast over radio and television stations.
    • Turn off faucets, lights and nonessential appliances.
    • Lock doors and windows.
    • Leave an ample supply of food and water for your pets and livestock.
    • As you leave, tie a white cloth to your front door or mailbox to let authorities know you have evacuated.
    • Follow the directions to a shelter.
