IF EVACUATION ORDERED
- Make sure the evacuation
order applies to the Lettered Zone you are in.
- If you need a ride to a
shelter, ask a neighbor. If you can't arrange a ride,
call the City of Oak Ridge Public Safety Dispatcher at 425-4399,
or Roane County Central Dispatch at 354-8045,
for pick up by designated emergency vehicles. You
will be taken to a shelter.
- Evacuate according to official
instructions broadcast over radio and television stations.
- Turn off faucets, lights
and nonessential appliances.
- Lock doors and windows.
- Leave an ample supply
of food and water for your pets and livestock.
- As you leave, tie a
white cloth to your front door or mailbox to let authorities
know you have evacuated.
- Follow the directions
to a shelter.
