PREPARING FOR AN EVACUATION

In case of an actual emergency, an evacuation may be ordered for your protection. Here's how to prepare:

  1. Listen to the listed radio or television stations for official instructions.

  2. Identify the planning zone sector where your residence is located.

  3. If at home, pack only the clothing and essentials you can carry for a brief stay.  Make a checklist of the items you need to pack.   Remember to include:

    • Medications

    • Infant formulas, special foods and diapers
    • Two blankets or a sleeping bag for each person
    • Identification such as a drivers license
    • Cash or credit cards

  4. Plan to be away from your house for several hours, possibly overnight.
