The Oak Ridge Emergency Management Forum is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Oak Ridge Office (ORO) and Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA). Each year, through the Forum, we communicate emergency management issues of current interest that affect the Oak Ridge Reservation, adjoining and neighboring counties comprising the East Tennessee region, and the City of Oak Ridge. The Forum gives us an opportunity to network with other emergency management professionals across the State and in the East Tennessee area.
The Forum was established in 2001 to promote improved communications and working relationships between ORO, the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), TEMA, and first responders in the Oak Ridge and East Tennessee area. Forum attendance records indicate that a wide variety of organizations from across the East Tennessee area attend the Forum and that interest in an information exchange continues to exist.
Breaking News Update: The 2013 Forum is set for Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Y-12 New Hope Center. The Forum Steering Committee has established the Theme of the Forum as:
BACK TO BASICS: PARTNERSHIPS IN EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
The Committee is in the process of inviting speakers and preparing to invite area and regional organizations to offer indoor and outdoor displays.
